Coco has the right blend of independence and interdependence.  She loves being affectionate, playful, and interactive.  She also investigates the worlds on her own, and enjoys her own company.

Didi reminds me of the importance of being aware of what her family is doing in order to fit in.  She sleeps when we relax, and jumps in delight when we say the work “walk.”

Ever active, Coco (with her terrier tendencies) likes to run, jump, and work out whenever possible. When out of my office, I follow her example.

Coco is not shy. Her affectionate interest in others is not overly pushy. She greets strangers with a big grin.

Didi accepts “No” gracefully without sulking or self-pity- a lesson for us all.

Asking for what I want calmly, rather than barking vociferously, is much more likely to get me a cookie.

Coco lightens even my darkest hour with her highlighted cheerfulness. I can do that too.

It is important to give comfort to a tired, stressed family member. She is quietly concerned, but never offers advice.

Ask for a cookie whenever you want, but to accept “no” gracefully.

Being persistent to the point of pushiness puts people off.
